If you are considering resurfacing your pool deck, there are a few things to consider before doing so. For many, a traditional concrete surface is good enough for them, but by changing the surface of your deck, you would be amazed at how much it changes the whole look of your backyard! Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are considering resurfacing your pool deck.

First, it is important to know what you like. Do you want to stick with a more traditional, single color deck? Or, would you like to mix things up or go with different colors or styles? If you have friends with pools, it is a good idea to go and see what they have done to see if you would want something similar. Another idea is to go to a store that specializes in pool decks. You don’t necessarily have to buy anything, but it is a good way to get ideas and see the different options that are available.

The next thing to do is prepare your surface. This means making sure that it is clean and there are no cracks or any types of debris on it. Using water and soap you can lightly scrub the whole surface. Power washing it is also another good idea.

Once the surface is clean and you know what color you would like to put on your pool deck, then you can buy all the supplies that you will need. Ask employees at pool stores or other professionals for advice. When you have your product, be sure to follow the directions that are provided for instructions on how to care for your pool deck. Most products are made so that typical consumers can do it themselves, but you can always hire someone to do it for you if you would feel more comfortable. Just make sure you tell them exactly what you want so you will be happy with your new resurfaced deck! And always, be sure to put a sealant on your deck to keep it from fading.
