West Coast Deck AL System

The West Coast Deck AL Walking System has been an industry standard for over a decade. For those looking for strength, durability and design, this system is perfect for any high traffic walking areas. Constructed from Class A fire retardant materials, the West Coast Deck AL System has a 1- Hour Fire Rating (ASTM-E108) and is ICC ES (ER #5416) code-compliant.

Step 1

  • A layer of waterproofing is applied to the plywood seams

Step 2

  • A galvanized metal lath is attached directly to the plywood

Step 3

  • A concrete and acrylic based slurry is distributed evenly around the work area

Step 4

  • The customer’s selected top coat color and additional waterproofing is applied

*4-6 hours of drying time is required before light pedestrian traffic is allowed and a full 24 hours before heavy objects are placed on the work area.

*2-6 hours of drying time depending on weather.

West Coast Deck FM System

The West Coast Deck FM System is the premier waterproofing system for above ground decks. This all acrylic system is designed to not only be waterproof, but it is also flexible, long lasting, fireproof and skid resistant. The West Coast Deck FM System can be applied to plywood, concrete, magnesite or metal deck designs and is perfect for anyone looking to keep their deck, dry, safe and looking.

Step 1

  • A layer of West Coast Deck Primer is applied to the work area. Once dried a 2nd coat in base coat resin.

Step 2

  • A West Coast Deck Polyurethane Caulk and Seam Tape is applied to all seams to improve

Step 3

  • If the work area is uneven a cement and resin can be applied to create a smooth

    Step 4

    • Fiberglass is frayed and placed over the work area, and a Base resin coat is applied

      Step 5

      • The texture coat is applied giving the deck its final appearance

          Step 6

          • The customer’s selected top coat color and additional waterproofing is applied

*Allow 4-6 hours or more of drying time. Additional time may be required depending on weather condition before light pedestrian traffic is allowed and a full 24-48 hours before heavy objects are placed on the work area.

*2-6 hours of drying time depending on weather.

            West Coast Deck MC System

The West Coast Deck MC System is a fiber reinforced deck system designed for concrete and magnesite floorings. This system is ideal for areas with heavy foot traffic, like balconies, corridors and stairs and landings. This system is quick to set for minimal downtime before the area can return to normal traffic. The West Coast Deck MC System is not only waterproof, it is strong, flexible and has a UV resistance and Safe anti-skid finish.

            Step 1

            • A layer of Life-Deck Fiberlath mesh is applied to the work area and laminated to the surface.

            Step 2

            • Once dry, a slurry mixture of cement and resin is applied to the Fiberlath layer covering the work area.

            Step 3

            • An optional pattern may be applied to give the deck a unique look based on the customer’s specifications.

            Step 4

            • A texture coat made up of cement and resin is applied to give the deck its final appearance.

              Step 5

              • The customer’s selected top coat color and additional waterproofing is applied

*2-6 hours of drying time depending on weather.

West Coast Deck Flex Restoration System

West Coast Deck Flex is a deck restoration system that is design to restore the original integrity of an existing walking deck system plus increase it's waterproofing characteristics. This will enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of any building. This system utilizes high quality acrylic resins combined with premium fiberglass reinforcement, followed by a handsome knockdown trowelled finish.

                Step 1

                • Apply bonder and fiberglass matting to the existing deck surface. Allow 24 hrs for drying.

                Step 2

                • Apple a thin trowelled application of texture thoroughly mixed with liquid polymer. A liquid polymer must be used without diluting with water.

                Step 3

                • Apply texture thoroughly mixed with liquid polymer by using a pneumatic hopper gun equipped with an 1/8th orifice and a circular spray plate. Allow 5-10 minutes before knocking down the splatter texture with a steel trowel.

                Step 4

                • Apply 1-2 coats pigmented concrete masonry floor paint and sealer. Allow 24-48 hours between coats. Periodically maintain system by applying a coat of pigmented CMFPS.

*2-6 hours of drying time depending on weather.

West Coast Deck Crete Texture/Overlay System

This system is a polymer modified resurfacing system for aged or newly poured concrete surfaces. This texture overlay is designed to repair driveways, patios, pool decks, entry ways, and walk ways and provide a hard wearing attractive finish.

                Step 1

                • Mix all powders and liquids with the "Jiffy" type mixing paddle. All materials for a minimum of 5 minutes for a smooth, lump-free consistency.

                Step 2

                • Apply a trowelled application of pigmented texture, thoroughly mixed with liquid over the deck to prime and smooth the surface. Allow trowelled application to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

                Step 3

                • Apply appropriate tape or stencils over cured bond coat and cut to finish. Mask adjacent surfaces not to receive coating.

                Step 4

                • Apply pigmented texture fully mixed with liquid polymer or easy deck acrylic, by trowel or by using a pneumatic hopper gun equipped with an 1/8th orifice and a medium setting in the circular spray paint. Allow 5-10 minutes before knocking down the splatter texture with the steel trowel. Allow drying before removing tape or stencils.

                Step 5

                • Apply 2 coats of clear sealer CMFPS, Paver Sealer, Master Seal 100 or Master Seal WB. Follow chosen sealer directions closely before allowing any foot or vehicle traffic.

*2-6 hours of drying time depending on weather.

                  West Coast Deck Decking System

This system is a fire retardant walking deck and roof covering system. This system is a multi-step polymer modified cementitious system designed to incorporate a fiber-glass reinforced acrylic resin waterproof membrane. This decking system typically covers up walls and curbs to affect a waterproof base.

                  Step 1

                  • After all required flashing is in place, thoroughly secure hot-dipped galvanized metal lath upon the wood sub-floor. Lap metal lath sheets together a minimum of 1 in and lap all metal flashings with lath up to 1/4 in - 1/2 in from the vertical riser of the flashing.

                  Step 2

                  • Mix all powder and liquids with the "Jiffy" type mixing paddle. Mix all materials to a smooth lump free consistency.

                  Step 3

                  • After mixing, trowel poly base into the metal lath. Make certain that all holes in the lath are filled to the top of the lath. Allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

                  Step 4

                  • Lay fiberglass mat onto surface. Lap fiberglass over flashing at seams. Cut fiber glass to fit around post and drains.

                  Step 5

                  • Generously apply bonder by working into fiberglass matting. Bonder is designed to penetrate and soak through the matting; thereby adhering the matting to the surface. Allow 24 hrs to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

                  Step 6

                  • Trowel a second application of poly based over the dried fiberglass and bonder. Allow to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

                  Step 7

                  • Apply texture by using a pneumatic hopper gun equipped with an orifice and a circular spray plate. Allow 5-10 minutes before knocking down the splatter texture with a steel trowel. Allow 2 hours for drying.

                  Step 8

                  • Apply 2 coats of pigmented concrete masonry floor paint and sealer (CMFPS). Allow 2-3 hours between coats. Periodically maintain system by applying a coat of pigmented CMFPS as needed.

*2-6 hours of drying time depending on weather.
